In a stride towards independence and a menu tailored specifically to their community, the teahouse previously known as NobiliTea in Kerrville has been rebranded as BrewTEAful Teahouse.
The owners, Hollie Andreas and Samantha Muñoz, recently rebranded the business after operating the location for years. Andreas and Muñoz separated from the former franchise to embrace a more authentic and health-conscious approach while continuing with the same high-quality products and service.
Situated on the corner of Jefferson and Clay St, BrewTEAful Teahouse continues to serve the community of Kerrville quality tea with the same local operation customers are familiar with.
Hollie Andreas, a Hill Country local and co-owner of BrewTEAful Teahouse, started getting involved in the tea business years ago with a partner who instilled the importance of top-quality, organic options.
Andreas explains, “We had top quality tea. It wasn’t just anything she found, if it wasn’t the best quality, she sent it back.”
Andreas realized that even though the selection had organic options, many of the drink recipes provided by the franchise had ingredients that didn’t serve the unique wants and needs of their community.
Although the tea selection process was highly vetted for the very best, the products stocked by the franchise weren’t what Kerrville customers wanted.
“Sam and I kept saying that Kerrville was different. Our main demographics are 65-plus and young kids,” Andreas said.
Since the tea house was still franchised, Andreas was restricted from making the changes their customers were voicing. “The recipes had lots of sugar and caffeine, and we were missing flavors that customers would request,” says Andreas.
The soon-to-be owners spotted the gaps in the business’ practices and knew they needed to be addressed, prompting them to go independent. With the restrictions of the franchise released, the partners expanded menus and catered the product selection to the Hill Country customers.
“We have 70 different flavors of tea. I brought in 12 new ones that we hadn’t had. Before going independent, only 70 percent of our teas were organic, now around 85 percent of our products are organically sourced.” says Andreas.
Keeping the health of their customers in mind, BrewTEAful Teahouse has sugar-free and non-caffeinated options, as well as blends specialized for wellness such as pregnancy support and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome relief.
One of the more creative ways BrewTEAful Teahouse receives input from their community is through their specialty drink menu.
Each beverage on the menu is handcrafted by the employees, creating a menu that is curated by locals, for locals. The menu rotates and features a variety of flavor profiles to maintain a diverse selection.
“Tearista” Val Frenzel created the crowd-favorite specialty drink called “The Iris,” a tropical beverage flavored with pineapple, fruit punch, and wildberry which uses green tea based caffeine as its energy boost. Even with BrewTEAful Teahouse’s expanded selection of healthy teas, there are still fun drinks that will satisfy a sweet tooth.
Despite a new name, BrewTEAful Teahouse continues to operate with the same unwavering dedication to quality products, now with a refined focus on the wants and needs of the community they serve.
BrewTEAful Teahouse is located at 528 Jefferson St. in Kerrville, Texas.
